Free Speech Symposium

The Free Speech Symposium is designed for Campus Activities professionals who work with issues surrounding freedom of expression on campus. This in-person program will equip campus professionals with the legal context, practical tools, and strategic insight needed to navigate freedom of expression across diverse campus environments. Through this experience, you’ll strengthen your ability to support student voices while collaborating effectively with key campus partners.
 

Registration

You can add The Free Speech Symposium on to your registration during the booking process.

  • Members: $150
  • Non-Members: $200

Earn Continuing Education (CE) credits towards your Certified Student Affairs Educator core & Campus Activities specialty certifications.

NACA has been approved by the Higher Education Consortium for Student Affairs Certification to provide Continuing Education (CE) credit for Certified Student Affairs Educators (CSAEdTM). Programs that qualify for CE credit in this program are clearly identified. NACA is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.

What can you expect to gain from The Free Speech Symposium?

As a result of attending the NACA Free Speech Symposium, participants will:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of legal precedents that influence previous and current frameworks of freedom of expression in higher education.
  • Develop tools and strategies to navigate freedom of expression on various types of campuses.
  • Determine appropriate professional roles in supporting students and student organizations, as well as additional personnel or departments who can aid in navigating freedom of expression for the campus community.
