Cringe-Free Substance Education That Actually Works

Presenter: Briana Hansen of Sex Rules & Feeling Risky

Audience: Undergraduates

Description:

Effective substance education isn't about belittling, lecturing, or giving people rigid rules.

It's about empowering students to better understand themselves so they can make choices that are in line with the type of person they want to be.

In doing so, they can take steps daily towards living the type of life they want to live. That's the inspiration behind the popular Feeling Risky interactive educational program, which will be the basis of this workshop.

In this workshop, we'll focus on choices, judgment-free information, and general personal risk management. We'll discuss how biology, society, peers, and culture all play a part in our urges. And we'll show how interaction and play make these lessons last even longer.

Plus, prizes for people who play along!
