Cases Impacting Campus Communities Across the Country

Current events can impact the health and well-being of campus communities across the country. A multitude of ongoing judicial proceedings – including the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, the January 6th insurrection hearings, the Charlottesville lawsuits, and the trials of those accused of murdering Ahmaud Arbery – have intensified conversations about systemic racism, justice, privilege, and white supremacy on our campuses and in our communities. Oftentimes, campus activities professionals and student leaders are the ones tasked with creating, facilitating, and supporting the brave spaces and dialogues around these issues, while they themselves are processing and navigating these events and experiences. This process is made even more challenging by the continued financial, staffing, and logistical challenges that exist because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
