Boost Your Skills, Network, and Confidence with the Mid-Level Professionals Course

Ready to take your higher ed career to the next level? Develop the skills you need through the Mid-Level Professionals (MLP) Course! Read on for takeaways from past MLP participants.

It’s almost time for the Mid-Level Professionals (MLP) Course! MLP is designed for higher education professionals who are preparing for the next steps in their careers. The program features six seasoned professionals who share their expertise on a topic. The topics align with the domains of the Certified Student Affairs educator program. This course is a great opportunity to prepare to take the certification exam and allows attendees to earn continuing education credits if they are already certified.

Why should you sign up for MLP? We ask presenters to help you start to move from a micro to a macro lens when looking at your work. We often get bogged down in the day-to-day details of our work, and this program gives you the opportunity to start shifting your mindset toward the bigger picture.

This is one of my favorite programs as I learn something new with each presenter and love watching the participants get to know and support each other. But you don’t have to listen to me, here are some comments from past participants:

  • MLP gave them “more confidence in my own abilities.”

  • MLP offered “very tangible with easy takeaways I could immediately incorporate into my work” and “impacts the work that I do”

  • “All of these topics were great! I made me think more critically about what my day-day looks like. The conversations with my peers every week also helped a lot with these topics and how they navigate the topics in their day-day.”

  • “I think the connection with colleagues and development are worth the time and monetary investment. I am coming out with a more strategic mindset and will use the information learned to helping me in my current and future roles in higher education.”

  • “There are others who are navigating the same thing. This course was great because of the different topics that were covered and the opportunity to connect with colleagues from different institutions. I felt that my ideas and questions were valued amongst the rest of the group. People support you and will give you a lot of advice. It was also a great opportunity to not look at the emails, shut the door, and connect with others.”

  • “I gained a better sense of myself, both professionally and personally, and I gained a great community.”

So, what are you waiting for? Here are the details:
