Le Appointed to the Board

The National Association for Campus Activities is pleased to announce that Thanh Le, Ed.D., West Virginia University (WVU) has been appointed to fill a one-year general board member vacancy beginning May 1. Dr. Le, who was elected to a three-year general board member term in 2023, will complete that term on April 30, 2026, before transitioning into this appointment.

The vacancy stems from a bylaws amendment the Board approved during its February 12-13 meeting, which established a fixed structure of nine board members: three officers and six general board members elected two at a time to three-year terms. The change replaced a prior structure that allowed the board to fluctuate between six and ten members, and created a one-year vacancy for 2026-27 given the existing general board member terms in place.

"Dr. Le has been a champion of the Case for Campus Activities, a long-time Association volunteer, and respected leader in the higher education industry," stated Jason Meier, who will become Chair of the Board of Directors on May 1. "His insight, experiences, and perspectives are invaluable as we bring the 2026-29 strategic plan to life. I look forward to continuing our important work with him on the Board this next year."

Dr. Thanh Le is a passionate professional who focuses on cultivating young change agents and creating equitable learning environments. Due to his unique career path to higher education, Dr. Le is devoted to assisting students with developing a purpose-driven future based on their passions. Early on in his career as an engineer, Thanh knew that this path did not align well with his passions and a career change was needed. Over the past 16+ years, Dr. Le has humbly served as a student affairs professional in a variety of roles and currently serves as the Assistant Dean, Student Engagement & Leadership at WVU.

A long-time volunteer, Thanh has been involved across the Association including serving as 2022 NACA Live Chair, a Leadership Fellows participant and mentor, participating in Student Government and Programming Institutes, and a member of the Diversity Action Group, all culminating in his election to a three-year general board member term on the Board of Directors in 2023. Dr. Le completed his undergraduate degree, two masters degrees, and doctoral work in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte..
