ACUHO-I is hosting a webinar free to NACA members on June 18 at 1pm ET on what campus staff need to know, how to navigate rapidly evolving immigration policies, ways to engage, and where to find resources, including practical checklists and explainers.
This webinar is being made available to NACA members in partnership with ACUHO-I.
The Trump administration’s immigration policy priorities and actions have already significantly impacted higher education institutions, students, and other campus members. These include increased immigration enforcement, detention of immigrant and international students and other noncitizens, visa revocations, SEVIS student record terminations, visa interview pauses, threats of SEVIS decertification, registration requirements for noncitizens, targeting of in-state tuition for Dreamers, suspension of refugee admissions, termination of humanitarian parole and temporary protected statuses, and most recently a travel ban. Executive orders and agency actions have upended students’ lives, generated fear, anxiety, and uncertainty among immigrant-origin and international students, faculty, and staff, and caused havoc for campus offices. Speakers will lay out what campus staff need to know, how to navigate rapidly evolving immigration policies, ways to engage, and where to find resources, including practical checklists and explainers. We will cover the key topics that impact noncitizen populations on campus, including those living and working in residence halls and campus-owned housing, with a particular focus on immigration enforcement on campus and the array of recent developments. There will be time for Q&A and discussion. This webinar is being offered in partnership by ACUHO-I & The Presidents' Alliance.
