Here are a few helpful tips as you think about submitting a blog for consideration:

  • Length: 500-1200 words. Something that can be read in a few minutes. If you want to write even more, that’s fine, we may cut it down a bit and save the whole piece for a future Campus Activities Programming Magazine® article.
  • Structure: Keep easily digestible in mind: lists, bullet points, the “top 3/5/7” tips, or “how to” are helpful. It doesn’t work for every piece, but something to keep in mind.
  • Author Bio: a couple sentences about you. Not the whole resume, just the highlights to helps the reader know this person has the background to write on the topic.
  • References/Resources: If a book, article, video, etc is referenced, we want to put that at the end. If it’s a NACA resource (something from the Resource Library or JCAPS) we’ll want to know that, too so we can direct people to it.
