There's No Place Like NACA
March 30 - April 2, 2017; St. Paul, MN
Ed sessions, showcases and CAMP, oh my!
The 2017 NACA® Northern Plains Regional Conference Planning Committee is thrilled to welcome you to the beauty and splendor of St. Paul, Minnesota! The fine group of regional volunteers that make up this year's RCPC has been working diligently over the past several months to ensure your experience at 2017 Northern Plains' "There's No Place Like NACA" conference is unforgettable.
I've been involved with NACA for many years in varying capacities, and it is through my experience that I can truly tell you, "There's No Place Like NACA." NACA is a whole new world - kind of like Oz. As a student delegate at my first NACA conference (many years ago) I was exposed to a world of endless possibility and a wealth of knowledge. Even though it's been several years, I am still learning and growing from my experience with NACA and our Northern Plains conference. It is my hope that you leave this weekend and head back to your campus with a full toolkit of information and ideas - a little more heart, a full brain, and a bit more courage to achieve your goals on campus. From the magnitude of diverse educational sessions, to fun and exciting entertainers, to the abundance of networking opportunities with associates at CAMP, there is definitely something for everyone. I encourage you to take full advantage of all this year's conference offers; have fun with it, learn and grow from the experience.

Grow your heart by giving back to the NACA community. I hope you can find a moment to volunteer, and get a peek of the behind-the-scenes of our conference. Check out the Volunteer Center to sign up for an on-site volunteer spot, or talk to a committee member if you have interest in joining next years planning committee (we have student, graduate and professional staff positions). Stop by the Foundation Fundraising booth in CAMP to give back to NACA in different way - raise funds for NACA® Foundation student scholarships. Buy into the raffle for a chance to win Best Seat in the House - front row seats, with goodie bags full of treats for a showcase. Yes please!
There are so many ways to grow your brain - gather knowledge and ideas to help you be a more successful programmer and leader on your campus. Engage in discussions and share ideas on various topics in our educational sessions throughout the conference. Check out the Graphics Competition display to spark ideas on new ways to promote to your student body.
Now, to gain some courage… get to know others through networking and socializing! Staff and graduate students: meet with other professionals and associates at the Staff/Associate Reception on Thursday night. Students: don't miss the School Swap and Student Social on Friday evening to continue to share ideas, programs, and campus promo goodies! This event is a great opportunity to network with other school delegates to take new and innovative ideas back to your campus.
Oh my! There are so many things to do and experience this weekend. Before you know it you'll be clicking your heels and heading back to your home sweet home. So, while you're here, soak it all up!
I would like to thank the amazing volunteers that make up this year's RCPC, and who have given their time and talent to this region. Enjoy your time here in St. Paul!
