The School Swap Coordinator oversees the School Swap event at the regional conference. This includes recruitment and registration of participants, arranging event logistics and coordinating awards related to this event.
Updates and edits descriptions and registration materials for School Swap event. Materials must include judging criteria, categories and other information of which participants should be aware.
Working within available budget, determines award categories and criteria, when applicable.
Coordinates registration of school delegations in advance of the conference, including opportunities for onsite registration. Ensures registration materials clearly define judging criteria (where applicable), registration requirements and deadlines.
When applicable, in coordination with the Student Projects Coordinator and the RCPC Chair, recruits judges and confirms their participation in advance of the conference. Every effort should be made to recruit judges who are not currently active in regional conference planning. Information about judges should be shared with and recorded by the Regional Volunteer Development Coordinator.
Manages all aspects of event, including setup, judging time, event, and breakdown, in coordination with the Regional Logistics Coordinator.
Submits at least one educational program proposal for the regional conference by the deadline.
Attends all regularly scheduled regional meetings and conference calls.
Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of, and ensures adherence to NACA® policies and procedures, as well as other applicable laws and regulations.
Integrates NACA® goals, initiatives and relevant strategic plan objectives in all aspects of position responsibilities.
Follows NACA’s Non-Discrimination, Diversity Advancement and Affirmative Action Principles to recommend others to fill available positions in the NACA® leadership and takes the necessary steps to achieve a diverse Association, both through the recruitment of volunteers and suggesting to the Board of Directors new or modified programs and services for the Association’s members.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned and agreed upon with volunteer supervisor.
The School Swap Coordinator must be a graduate or undergraduate student at an NACA® member institution.
The School Swap Coordinator must have approval from and support of their institution prior to appointment to the position (note: support is defined as financial, as well as time away from the institution, etc.)
If the volunteer enrolls as a different institution during the position’s term, the new school must also be an NACA® member and provide a statement of support. The NACA® Office, and National Volunteer Development Coordinator must be informed of this change and the letter of support must be received at the NACA® Office within 30 days of enrollment.
