Volunteer with NACA - About the Regional Leadership Teams

In 2020, NACA launched a new Regional Leadership Team (RLT) structure. After a year monitoring the successes and challenges of the new structure, staff worked closely with volunteers to make a few adjustments:

  1. The largest change was creating two separate structures for regions assisting with planning a conference in their region and regions who do not have a conference located within their geographic boundaries. RLTs not assisting with conferences will not be filling any roles related to showcasing or marketplace, will fill a couple of roles as micro-volunteer opportunities on an as-needed basis, and can recruit up to three Event Coordinators to assist with regional event planning.
  2. A few of the position titles were adjusted to more accurately reflect role responsibilities.
  3. Graduate students are now able to apply for any green-level position, with the exception of Showcase Selection & Marketplace Coordinator and Showcase Production Coordinator.
  4. The Recruitment Coordinator and Recognition & Awards Coordinator positions were condensed into one Recruitment & Recognition Coordinator in order to provide a more robust experience and promote year-round recognition and stewardship within the region.
  5. The Educational Program Coordinators are now generalized instead of audience-specific positions.
  6. The reporting structure was adjusted for a couple of positions to better position them for success in fulfilling their responsibilities.
