Volunteer with NACA - National Position Detail

Overview

Coordinate a social media plan to be used before, during and after the National Convention

Specific Responsibilities

Creates a social media plan for the National Convention.
Shares pre-convention information such as videos, showcases, etc.
Implements and promotes the use of social media before, during and after the national convention.
Works with NACA App (i.e. Eventsential) and the NACA Office to disseminate information through social media initiatives (including convention updates and changes to the conference schedule) on site.
Facilitates engagement and information sharing amongst delegates and institutional members.
Promotes the national convention events and deadlines in conjunction with attendance goals.
Alongside NACA staff which includes Online Marketing Manager and/or Director of Marketing and Communications, serves to provide live streaming coverage to followers of key National Convention events. This includes, NACA Speaks, NACA Talks, Achievement Awards and Hall of Fame induction.
Works to ensure all surveys for Ed Sessions are loaded in the NACA app.
May be asked to be "on call" to help distribute Push Notifications during the National Convention.
Promotes contests and distribution of prizes.
Participates in convention planning team calls/meetings.
Attends the onsite planning team meeting the day prior to the convention.
Maintains a thorough knowledge and understanding of, and ensures adherence to NACA policies and procedures, as well as other applicable laws and regulations.
Assures that NACA goals, initiatives and relevant Strategic Plan objectives are integrated with convention initiatives and position responsibilities.
Follows NACA’s Non-Discrimination, Diversity Advancement and Affirmative Actions Principles to recommend others to fill available positions in the NACA leadership and takes the necessary steps to achieve a diverse Association both through the recruitment of volunteers and suggesting to the Board of Directors new or modified programs and services for the Association’s members.


Qualifications

Must be a full-time staff member at a member institution (note: if the volunteer changes jobs during the position’s term, the new school must also be an NACA member and provide a statement of support. The NACA Office, Chair of the Board, National Volunteer Development Coordinator must be informed of this change and the letter of support must be received at the NACA Office within 30 days of hiring.)
Must have approval from and support of their institution prior to applying for the position (note: support is defined as financial as well as time out of the office, etc.)
Must have a functional knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
