NACA® Summer Leadership Event

Summer Leadership Event

May 31 - June 3, 2020

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (FL)

Audience: Students and Advisors

OVERVIEW

The NACA® Summer Leadership Event is a leadership development program for student leaders and professional staff.

The Summer Leadership Event utilizes Disney Youth Education Series (YES) Programs that are relatively consistent from year to year. We welcome students and advisors to attend each year with the understanding that the curriculum does not change considerably. Each experience has the opportunity to be very meaningful because of the Magic that occurs at Walt Disney World. The Disney’s Yes program will be incorporated into the curriculum of the institute to enhance the overall experience for each delegate. This year’s focus will be on creativity and leadership with the basis of the curriculum coming from Ed Catmull’s Creativity, Inc. The major themes of the institute will be:

  • Honesty and Candor – Challenging ideas in the creative space
  • Creativity and Cultural Intersectionality – Understanding the value of diversity and inclusion in creative leadership
  • Navigating Change – Understanding the different levels of change adoption
  • Challenging the Process – Putting the process on blast, NOT the people
  • Crucial Conversations in Leadership – How to handle “sometimes” stars
