Suspension of MATFest Pending CPR July 29, 2016
Last week, the NACA® Board of Directors met in St. Louis, MO, to continue its work in strategically leading our organization. One of the decisions made may have an impact on your plans for the 2017 Mid Atlantic Festival (MATFest) and we wanted to share this with you as soon as possible.
As a result of an initial program review of MATFest, the NACA® Board made a decision to suspend the next offering of this program in an effort to further assess with key stakeholders its value and desired outcomes. In becoming a more strategic and operationally sound organization in allocation of resources and services, the NACA® leadership has implemented a comprehensive program review (CPR) process for all of NACA's offerings.
The purpose of these program reviews is to make sure we are aligned with the mission, vision and value proposition of the organization in all that we do, as well as practice assessment in an effort to constantly improve. So, while there will be no MATFest in 2017, please know that further assessment will be done to capture additional feedback from key stakeholders, which will help shape future direction.
If you are interested in participating in the process or would like to review the initial CPR for understanding behind the board's decision to suspend, please contact Director of Education and Research Dr. Telesia Davis, or call her at 803-217-3485. We hope that getting this information now will allow you to make necessary plans and resource allocations based on this decision.
