October is Careers in Student Affairs Month!

Each October the student affairs profession recognizes and celebrates Careers in Student Affairs Month. Both ACPA and NASPA have made resources available on-line to assist student affairs professionals in encouraging students to consider a career in student affairs:

Please encourage the students that you work with to consider a career in student affairs. These students are the future of our profession and our continued development requires attracting the best and brightest students to our field. Join your fellow educators from around the world to promote October as the Careers in Student Affairs Month. During this period, we encourage you to:

• Encourage them to attend the Graduate Program Fairs at the NACA Regional Conferences;
  
• Distribute these materials to campus leaders and post in your student center and residence halls;
  
• Hold a brown-bag luncheon to discuss careers in student affairs;
  
• Develop a visual display featuring the student affairs staff on-campus with quotes on reasons they love student affairs
