Learning Reconsidered

  • Publications
Learning Reconsidered (LR) has reshaped the way higher education and student affairs educators look at our work with students. Student learning outcomes, developing a campus curriculum, assessing overall learning, and examining how higher education impacts the lives of our students have all been captured in Learning Reconsidered and Learning Reconsidered 2.
  • Website
Following the success of the LR and LR2 publications, the Student Affairs in Higher Education Consortium (SAHEC) developed a web-based version of LR. The website complements the printed publications with user-friendly tools, forums, and resources that allow for further descriptions and applications of program examples. Nineteen case studies were submitted by NIRSA Members, eight of which were accepted for this initial launch of the LR website – more than any other association. NIRSA Members can continue to submit additional programs and case studies via the website.
  • Institute
SAHEC was proud to sponsor the inaugural Learning Reconsidered Institute, which took place June 6-7, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri. The sold-out Institute allowed 386 participants, including at least 40 NIRSA Members and NIRSA Executive Director Kent J. Blumenthal, the chance to learn from those who are implementing LR ideas and concepts to connect student learning throughout their campuses.
