NACA Foundation Scholarships for Students
Only current undergraduate students in the former NACA East Coast Region [Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania (area codes 215, 570, 610 and 717) and Washington, DC] are eligible to apply.
The NACA East Coast Undergraduate Scholarship for Student Leaders, established in 1995, was created through an endowment by the former NACA East Coast Region to the NACA Foundation. The fund provides for up to two scholarships annually, which are intended to be used for Educational purposes, such as tuition, fees, books, etc. Scholarships are awarded in spring/summer, with checks mailed to recipients upon verification of enrollment.
Only current undergraduate students within the former NACA Southeast Region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and the territory of Puerto Rico) are eligible to apply.
The NACA Southeast Student Leadership Scholarship, endowed by the former NACA Southeast Region, was established in 1994 to recognize the achievements of undergraduate student leaders enrolled at colleges and universities in the former NACA Southeast Region. The fund provides up to four scholarships annually. Awards are intended to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books. Selections are made in the summer and scholarships are mailed to recipients no later than Aug. 1.
Only current undergraduate students, graduate students and school staff members are eligible to apply.
The Multicultural Scholarship Program is part of the NACA Foundation’s affirmative action effort to increase the participation of ethnic minority individuals in the field of campus activities. The program is designed to provide economic assistance to qualified under-represented programmers, allowing them to attend NACA-sponsored training workshops, regional conferences and National Conventions. Up to four scholarships will be awarded annually. The awards are for registration only; travel is not included. One of the four scholarships is endowed by the former NACA New England Region and designated for a student or staff member at a college or university within that region (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT).

The Regional Council Scholarship fund was established in 1996 in order to provide scholarships to recipients from within each of NACA’s regions. The fund, administered by the NACA Foundation, is maintained by an annual contribution from each of the regions. The scholarships, which annually vary in amount, are to be used for educational expenses including tuition, books, fees or other related expenses. Scholarships are presented at individual NACA regional conferences.

One means by which the NACA Foundation demonstrates its commitment to the development of professionals in the field of campus activities is through providing scholarships to individuals pursuing graduate work in preparation for, or to enhance, a career in campus activities. NACA offers four graduate scholarships—the Donald L. McCullough Memorial Scholarship Fund, the New England McCullough Memorial Scholarship Fund, the William E. Brattain Graduate Scholarship Fund and the Hayward M. "Skip" Daugherty, Jr. Graduate Scholarship Fund. The Brattain and the Daugherty scholarships are for students in the former Illiana (IL, IN and MO [St. Louis only]) and Great Lakes (KY, MI [area codes 231, 248, 269, 313, 517, 586, 616, 810 and 989], OH, WV and Western PA [area codes 412, 724 and 814]) regions, respectively, while the New England McCullough scholarship is designated for students in the former NACA New England Region (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT).
Students, staff and associates are eligible to apply.
The NACA East Coast Higher Education Research Scholarship was established in 1995 by the former NACA East Coast Region. The scholarship provides funds for research projects designed to add to the college student personnel knowledge base, particularly those projects which focus on campus activities, address issues challenging student affairs practitioners and/or issues challenging higher education as they relate to campus activities. The fund provides up to $500 to be awarded annually. Scholarship selection is made in the summer with funds distributed to recipients in early fall.
Only current undergraduate students or graduate students in the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington) are eligible to apply.
The Lori Rhett Memorial Scholarship, endowed by the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region in 1996, was created to recognize the achievements of undergraduate or graduate student leaders enrolled in colleges and universities located in the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region. The fund will provide for one annual award. Awards are to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books. Selection is made in the summer and the recipient will be announced at the NACA West regional conference.
Only current students in the former NACA South Central Region (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas) are eligible to apply.
The former NACA South Central Region established the Markley Scholarship in 1983. The scholarship is named for Larry Markley, the acknowledged founder of the former NACA South Central Region. The scholarship is to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and honor involved students who have made significant contributions to the NACA Central Region and are located in the former NACA South Central Region. Up to two scholarships may be awarded annually.
Only current graduate students and new professionals in the former NACA New England Region (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont) are eligible to apply.
The Ross-Fahey Scholarships were established by the former NACA New England Region to provide financial assistance to graduate student leaders enrolled in, and new professionals employed at, colleges and universities in the former NACA New England Region. This would apply to the following states: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The scholarships are to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books or for professional development purposes, such as conference fees. The amount of the scholarships will be determined annually based on the activity of the fund. Up to two scholarships will be given annually.

The Scholarships for Student Leaders Program, established in 1985, was created through donations to the 25 For 25 Drive, a silver anniversary fund-raising project of the NACA Foundation. The fund provides annual scholarships, seven of which are designated in the following manner:
• the Public Media Incorporated/Films Incorporated Scholarships for Student Leaders;
• the NACA New England Region Scholarships for Student Leaders (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI and VT);
• the Joseph D. Giampapa Scholarship for Student Leaders (KY, MI [area codes 231, 248, 269, 313, 517, 586, 616, 810 and 989], OH, WV and Western PA [area codes 412, 724 and 814]);
• the NACA Heart of America Region Scholarship for Student Leaders (CO, KS, MO [excluding St. Louis], NE and WY);
• the NACA Illiana Region Scholarship for Student Leaders (IL, IN and MO [St. Louis only]);
• the NACA East Coast Region Thomas E. Matthews Scholarship for Student Leaders (DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY and Eastern PA); and
• an unnamed Scholarship for Student Leaders.
Scholarships are to be used for educational expenses, including tuition, books, fees or other related expenses.

The Zagunis Student Leader Scholarship was established by the former NACA Great Lakes Region to provide financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate student leaders enrolled in colleges and universities located in the former NACA Great Lakes region. Current undergraduate or graduate students attending a school in the former NACA Great Lakes region are eligible to apply. The scholarship is to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books.
Only current undergraduate students in the former Great Lakes Region (Kentucky, Michigan [area codes 231, 248, 269, 313, 517, 586, 616, 734, 810 and 989], Ohio, Western Pennsylvania [area codes 412, 724 and 814] and West Virginia) are eligible.
The Tese Caldarelli Memorial Scholarship was established by the former NACA Great Lakes Region to provide financial assistance to undergraduate or graduate student leaders enrolled in colleges and universities in the former NACA Great Lakes Region. This would apply to the following states: Michigan (area codes 231, 248, 269, 313, 517, 586, 616, 734, 810 and 989), Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania (areas codes 412, 724 and 814). The scholarship is to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books or for professional development purposes, such as conference fees.
Only current graduate or undergraduate in the former NACA Wisconsin Region [Michigan (area code 906) and Wisconsin] are eligible to apply.
The NACA Wisconsin Region Student Leadership Scholarship is designed to assist students pursuing graduate or undergraduate study leading toward a career in student activities or a related student services field. Scholarships are credited directly to the institution in which the student is enrolled to cover tuition, fees and related educational expenses, upon certification of enrollment by the institution’s registrar. The scholarship endowment provides for one annual award and is non-renewable. If a recipient does not need to make full use of the award for tuition, fees and related educational purposes, the student may use the remaining funds toward institutional expenses the following year, or may return the unused funds to the NACA Foundation.
