NACA Southeast Student Leadership Scholarships
ONLY current undergraduate students within the former NACA Southeast Region (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and the territory of Puerto Rico) are eligible to apply.
High school students are not eligible.


The NACA Southeast Student Leadership Scholarship, endowed by the former NACA Southeast Region, was established in 1994 to recognize the achievements of undergraduate student leaders enrolled at colleges and universities in the former NACA Southeast Region. The fund provides up to four scholarships annually. Awards are intended to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books. Selections are made in the summer; scholarships are mailed to recipients no later than Aug. 1.

DEADLINE
Materials must be received in the NACA Office by March 31.

CRITERIA
Applicants must:

  • Be full-time, matriculated undergraduate students in good standing at the time of the application and during the semester in which the award is received
  • Demonstrate significant leadership skills and ability
  • Hold a significant leadership position on campus
  • Have made significant contributions via volunteer involvement, either on or off campus
  • Be enrolled in a college or university within the former NACA Southeast Region (AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA and the territory of Puerto Rico)
  • High school students are not eligible.

NACA membership or involvement is not a criterion for selection.

Applicants must submit the following materials so that they are received in the NACA Office no later than March 31. If you are unable to submit any of these materials online, please fax or mail to the NACA Office, attention Dionne Ellison. Fax: 803-749-1047 Mailing Address: 13 Harbison Way, Columbia, SC, 29212. Please include a cover sheet with your name, school and email address.

  • At least two letters of recommendation, which may be attached to the application form or forwarded separately to the NACA Office. These letters should be from administrators or faculty who are well acquainted with the applicant as a student leader, and should specify the applicant’s leadership positions, responsibilities, skills and ability, training and accomplishments.
  • A re´sume´ or description of the applicant’s leadership activities, skills and ability, training and accomplishments.
  • Official verification from the college/university registrar confirming the applicant’s enrollment status.
