NACA Mid Atlantic Showcase Selection Application

DEADLINE: May 29, 2008

Take an active role in determining who will appear on the showcase stages at the 2008 NACA Mid Atlantic Regional Conference. Apply for a position on the Showcase Selection Committee.

The Showcase Selection Committee is responsible for the artist selection for showcases presented at this fall's regional conference. The Showcase Selection process involves reviewing audio/visual and printed material submitted by NACA associate members, and building showcases following discussion and deliberation. A broad view of campus activities and a strong ability to work through the decision-making process as a group is essential to the process.

It is necessary to select the acts in reasonable, discreet and equitable manner according to the established criteria. The membership of the committee must remain anonymous through the selection process. The committee membership will be sensitive to the representation of the Association (i.e. regions, school location, size and type of institution, gender, ethnic background, etc.). Prior attendance at a National Convention or regional conference is not required, but is strongly preferred. Committee members are appointed by the Regional Coordinator or designee. Appointments are expected to be made by June 11. Please note that applicants must not be a current or former employee of an NACA associate member firm or agency, nor may they plan to be employed by an associate member firm or agency within the next year.

Applicants should note that serving on the selection committee will require time away from work/class. However, NACA covers the cost of transportation, meals, and lodging for the selection meeting. Applicants will be expected to attend the entire showcase selection process.

WHEN: Showcase Selection Committee will meet June 25-29. Depending on availability of flights, some people may need to arrive the day before the meeting starts.
