Lori Rhett Memorial Scholarship
ONLY current undergraduate students or graduate students in the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington) are eligible to apply. High school students are not eligible.

The Lori Rhett Memorial Scholarship, endowed by the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region in 1996, was created to recognize the achievements of undergraduate or graduate student leaders enrolled in colleges and universities located in the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region. The fund will provide for one annual award. Awards are to be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees and books. Selection is made in the summer and the recipient will be announced at the NACA West regional conference.

DEADLINE
Materials must be received in the NACA Office by June 30.

CRITERIA
Applicants must:

  • Be matriculated undergraduate or graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better at the time of application and during the semester in which the award is received
  • Demonstrate significant leadership skills and abilities
  • Hold a significant leadership position on campus
  • Have made significant contributions via volunteer involvement, either on or off campus; and,
  • Be enrolled in a college or university within the former NACA Pacific Northwest Region (AK, ID, MT, OR and WA).
  • High school students are not eligible.

NACA membership or involvement is not a criterion for selection.

Applicants must submit the following materials so that they are received in the NACA Office no later than June 30. If you are unable to submit any of these materials online, please fax or mail to the NACA Office, attention Dionne Ellison. Fax: 803-749-1047 Mailing Address: 13 Harbison Way, Columbia, SC, 29212. Please include a cover sheet with your name, school and email address.

  • A completed scholarship application form
  • At least two letters of recommendation, which may be attached to the application form or forwarded separately to the NACA Office. These letters should be from administrators or faculty who are well acquainted with the applicant as a student leader, and should specify the applicant’s leadership positions, responsibilities, skills and abilities, training and accomplishments.
  • A re´sume´ or description of the applicant’s leadership activities, skills and abilities, training and accomplishments.
  • Official verification of the applicant’s current enrollment status and a copy of academic transcripts from the college/university registrar.
